Give Where You Live supports ‘Every Australian Counts’ – the National public awareness campaign sweeping across the country to support the introduction of a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The current support system is in crisis and inequitable. National data shows 45% of people with a disability are living close to or under the poverty line.
In the Geelong region there are over 12,000 people living with a disability. As disability can affect any family at any time, the need for a more adequate inclusive system affects everyone.
The NDIS will revolutionise funding for people with a disability, their families, carers and the disability service system by making it easier for people to access essential care, support, therapy, equipment, early intervention and training. Find out more.
136,706 Australians are have registered to support the introduction for the NDIS. To help support the goal of reaching 200,000 supporters changing the lives of people with disability. You can join them!
