aid, and support for prescriptions to people experiencing crisis in our community, just like Deanne.
Deanne’s story…
Deanne*, a mother of three children, was struggling to put food on the table, pay the bills and provide essential medications for her family.
Deanne, who says things are now looking up, had the support of the Give Where You Live Foundation’s Community Choice vouchers and 3216 Connect, to thank for giving her and her family the chance to thrive.
For Deanne and her family, significant health issues have taken up most of the last twelve months. Due to illness, Deanne’s husband is unable to work and one of their three children is also facing health challenges.
“Putting food on the table, paying the bills and covering the cost of medications has taken its toll on us.”
With her three children all still in school, Deanne was struggling to keep up with paying the bills, let alone feed them all and find money for medication.
“There were many days where I’d go without eating to make sure I had enough to go in the kids lunchboxes for school.”
Deanne says the support of the Give Where You Live Foundation’s Community Choice vouchers for food and pharmacy items received from 3216 Connect has proved invaluable. “It put a smile on my face receiving the support of the vouchers. Like a load had been lifted off my shoulders.”
Things are now looking brighter for Deanne and her family.
“I didn’t think we’d have Christmas this year. With all the support we’ve had, we’re very lucky. ”
